Boutique Poo-Yai Ma at BP Place is a uniquely decorated, moderately priced hotel in the Northern part of Bangkok.
It’s secluded away from the noise of bustling Bangkok on the pedestrian-friendly Phahonyothin Road, Soi 18.
Guests are presented the Thai way of life through our stylish guest rooms, an art gallery and library,
plus the Poo-Yai Ma Café, all decorated in a modern yet natural, rustic style. The name “Boutique Poo-Yai Ma” is a reference to political cartoonist Chai Rachwat’s work, which inspired the Hotel’s themed decor. Guests can enjoy a glimpse into Thai culture and political humor through contemporary works of art by Chai Ratchwat in the Hotel. Rachwat’s cartoon is published every day in the Thairath, Thailand’s largest daily newspaper. The main cartoon character Poo-Yai Ma, is the Headman (Poo-Yai) of a fictitious village somewhere in Thailand. Headman Ma usually gives a humorous twist to the political intrigue of the moment. Boutique Poo-Yai Ma at BP Place is located within 400 meters of Chatuchak Market, (Bangkok’s famous, gigantic weekend market), and a 10 minute walk to the BTS Sky Train (Mo Chit & Saphan Kwai Stations) and the MRT Subway Station (Suan Chatuchak Station). Also within walking distance is the Or-Tor-Kor Market. This large and unique market area is filled with fresh fruit and vegetables as well as flavorful Thai food and snacks and lots of interesting bric-a-brac. Other nearby shopping centers include Central Ladprao, and Union Mall. |
